Iran Demands a FIFA Ban on Israel in the Gaza Conflict.

The Iran-based football federation has requested that FIFA, the world’s soccer organization, suspend the Israeli sports governing body due to their involvement in the Gaza conflict.

 

>The Iranian football federation posted a statement on its website, calling on FIFA to “completely suspend” the Israeli soccer governing body from all football-related activities.

>FIFA and its member associations are urged to take immediate and serious action to prevent the continuation of Israeli crime, as well as provide food and water.

 

>A historic assault by Hamas rebel against Israel on October 7 marked the beginning of the Gaza conflict.
AFP reported that official Israeli figures showed that around 1,160 people, mostly civilians died in the incident.

 

The Israeli government responded with a promise to eliminate Hamas.

>Hamas has claimed responsibility for the airstrikes and ground attacks that have resulted in the deaths of at least 27,947 people, including numerous women’s and children, as reported by the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

>Iran praised Hamas for its October 7 attack as a “successful” but denied any direct involvement.

>The Islamic Republic does not acknowledge its enemy Israel and prohibits any form of communication between Iranian and Israeli athletes.

 

In 2021, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, advised athletes not to interact with Israeli officials in order to receive medals.

 

>As per Sky News on Thursday, several Middle Eastern football associations, such as Palestine, Saudi Arabian, Qatari, and United Arab Emirates, have demanded that world football leaders forbid Israel from joining the fight against Hamas in Gaza.
