After a prolonged wait, Apple has finally introduced its highly anticipated Apple Vision Pro headphones.
Speculations of enthusiasm for the product, which promises advanced mixed reality technology, are comparable to those seen in the iPhone’s early days.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg believes that the Vision Pro has been a topic of much discussion, but the headset may not be fully developed yet.
The Vision Pro is praised by Gurman in his latest Power On newsletter report, which acknowledges its superiority but also recognizes certain shortcomings.
He noted that while the headset offers many features capable of replacing an iPad in basic tasks, its ability to replace an iPhone is questionable.
According to Gurman, the VisionOS operating system’s weight was a major concern, as well as its battery life and performance issues.
The device may require several generations of refinement before it reaches its optimal state, according to him.
The incremental innovation process is reminiscent of the way Apple approached its earlier products, such as the iPhone, Apple Watch, and iPad, according to Gurman.
It has many features that are worth buying, but Gurman says buyers should be wary.
At the price of $3,500 per unit (£34.50), he believes that the Vision Pro still has room for improvement.
Consumers may want to wait until future versions of the device can be designed to fix its flaws before making a purchase, according to Gurman.
Ultimately though the new Apple Vision Pro headset has been an “impressive but still very real mixed reality product,” it remains far from being fully developed.
With input from users and experts, including Gurman, Apple is expected to continue improving Vision Pro in the future with the hope of creating a seamless experience for users.
