In addition to its new features, WhatsApp’s latest beta version includes a more advanced status bar that enhances the user experience.
It is not the horizontal design and recognition of profile photos that used to be common, but a more intuitive direction.
The Updates tab now offers a thumbnail preview of the initial shared status, giving users the option to view status updates directly from the top bar.
It provides a brief overview of content without the need to view every status update separately.
Users’ complaints of inefficiencies and lack of convenience led WhatsApp to introduce a redesign.
This is achieved by focusing on large thumbnails for preview purposes, which will improve the browsing experience and allow users to quickly identify updates that need to be explored more.
The update also alters the order and visibility of channel posts in the Updates tab, including status updates and channel updates.
If status updates are presented in a card-like format, they may be more prominent and could potentially alter the way channel updates appear.
Among the small updates that WhatsApp is expected to release in the near future are the ability to transfer channels’ ownership, specify favorite contacts to view quickly, deactivate channel replies and accounts automatically created, an updated interface for channel lists, and various fixes.
WhatsApp’s beta version has not yet released these updates, and the stable version is still in the process of being updated.
