Shaun King, an American Activist, and His Wife Converted to Islam.

A Muslim community center facilitated the reading of the Kalma by the African-American writer and his wife in an online video that gained widespread attention.

On Sunday, Shaun King, a well-known African American activist and writer, converted to Islam at 2:30 pm in Texas on Sunday with his wife Rai, as seen in ‘a viral video.

The King is shown being guided through the Kalma by Imam Omar Suleiman, a Palestinian-American who was captured on video, explaining the Muslim profession of faith.
After reciting the Kalama in Arabic and English to his followers, King was seen passing the microphone to wife Rai, who was also taking an Oath. She was wearing a brown headscarf.

The conversion decision is attributed by King to the influence of Malcolm X, his long-standing friendship with Muslims, and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

King expressed his conversion by stating, “I am not sure if I would have survived the trauma and suffering that occurred in Gaza for the past six months.

The Valley Ranch Islamic Center’s YouTube channel aired footage of him preaching his new faith at the local mosque.

According to King, he is heartened to witness that individuals who are currently in the most dangerous and trauma-intense location can still glimpse the meaning and purpose of life.

I was most touched by the Palestinian people’s friendship, their strong sense of loyalty and their faith.
One day prior to Ramadan, which is observed by Muslims from dawn until dusk, the king was converted. This occurred during this month.

Suleiman informed other worshippers at the mosque that they will both be fasting in sha Allah on Wednesday and are prepared to start their journey.

The Black Lives Matter Movement gained a new voice in the 2010, thanks to Shaun King, formerly ordained as he is credited with preaching.
Several online campaigns have been launched by him to support black victims of police brutality and raise funds for charitable causes, such as those helped by the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

King, who is also a divisive figure in activist circles, has been accused of embezzling funds to support the families of those killed by police brutality in America, which he strongly refuted.
