The Sri Lanka Cricket Board’s ban has been lifted.

The ban on Sri Lankan cricket was lifted by the International Cricket Council.
On November 10, the Council was prohibited, particularly for serious breaches of its responsibilities, necessitating independent management and the elimination of government interference in the administration, regulation and administration of cricket in Sri Lanka.

The action was taken in response to the Auditor General of Sri Lanka’s report into the board’ alleged corruption and embezzlement, which highlighted the poor governance.
The Sri Lankan leadership, under the leadership of President Shami Silva, was ousted during the 2023 World Cup following this report.

A temporary restoration of leadership was granted after an appeal to the court, but it was later dismissed again immediately before returning to duty.
ICC board of directors convened on November 21 to transfer the 2024 U-19 World Cup, which was previously scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka, after internal unrest.
On Sunday, the ICC issued a statement acknowledging that they have been monitoring the situation since the suspension and are now confident that their membership rules have not been breached.
